For the first time, I'm stepping out from behind the microphone to say a few words.

My name is Farha Guerrero, and I am about to reach 100 episodes of The Blue Hour, or what used to be Prof Talk. I thought it would be nice to do a little video to first say thank you to those of you who are listening, supporting me, and, of course, to the community of people who are curious like myself.

It's really a beautiful privilege to do what I can do week after week: talk to people about what they're passionate about. And the only reason why I do this, as a volunteer host and producer of The Blue Hour, is because I'm just curious.

I'm curious about life. I'm curious about literature. I'm curious about science, about philosophy. And I bring guests into the CiTR radio station at the University of British Columbia to enjoy dialogue and conversation. And it's a testament to just how beautiful that can actually be.

I'm quite camera shy. This is why I do radio. But now that I'm getting close to 100 episodes, I thought it was time to make a video.

I've got this wonderful bookshelf beside my bed in the background, and I'll be writing a blog post soon about many of those books. I'll have my own reading list to share with the world.
